Hi I have a 65 diesel. The main clutch seems to work just fine. But the pto will slip under a big load. Is there an adjustment that can be made?? Or do I need to split the tractor and rebuild the entire clutch? I am also looking for one or the lifting arms for the three point. I need the cast fork. Thanks!!!

Hello JDG,
There is a strong possibility that it will only be adjustment.
Remove the lower inspection plate and with the aid of a flashlight check on the 3 adjusting bolts as shown in the photo. The target gap for clearance between the bolt head and plate is 090". If the heads are actually in contact with the plate this will cause the PTO to slip under light to heavy load. If you can make the clearance of 090" with feeler gauges all well and good. If not, 2 hand hacksaw bladeswith the teeth ground off will suffice. The exact figure is not critical but the 3 adjusted the same is. You will require 2 good 1/2" AF open end spanners. Slacken the nuts just enough to be able to turn the bolts. Inspect the clutch unit for presence of oil. If the adjustment is OK then oil contamination from the rear crank seal or gearbox input housing could be to blame.
