Hi.. I have a model 240 Massey Ferguson. Kida without warning the clutch stopped working. It wont release. The pedal feels good like it is ok on the inside. Any advice from anyone??? Thanks Alot.

take inspection plate off bottom of transmission and have someone step on the pedal and look to see the release fingers move just off the hip sounds like it broke a pin on one of the release fingers make sure the clutch shaft didnt spin in the clutch arm and out of adjustment

Hi,
Yes, it can be something like a pin come out but this is a rare occurrence. It is more likely that the lining on one side of the main clutch plate has broken away. This lining thickness will then move ontop of the remaining fixed lining so that you will have two thicknesses of lining on one side of the plate and one on the other. This can normally be identified by the release levers being at different height when initial contact with the release bearing occurs. There is insufficient lift on the main pressure plate to free the assembly.
