lift arm positioner linkage problem

Hello. I have a 59 m/f with a separate hydraulic pump on front(front works perfectly). I think I have a linkage problem with my rear 3pt lift arm linkage inside housing. Anytime motor is running the 3pt is max'd out as high as possible. No adjustment whatsoever. After removing side plate I noticed that while moving positioning lever from max up to max down there is no noticeable movement on the arms inside at all. After removing all the top plate bolts along with the pump tube I am still unable to get plate off. It raises a little over an inch but something inside is still holding..Any ideas that will help get plate off ?? Thanks,

Can you return with a model no? I'm believing a "59" Massey may be possibly be either a 35 or 65. If this is the case, when lifting the hydraulic top cover, you will need to move the cover slightly rearwards, as the adjustment nuts will catch on the centre housing.
Evan.

Evan, it is a TO35. I did wonder about the nuts I think you are referring to. Are they the four which comprise about a fourish inch square, that the studs come from underneath(front of top plate). I thought it looked like that would all come off WITH the top plate. Thank you again..

Hi, don't undo the four nuts in the 'square' fo any reason. If you have and the cylinder has fropped at all do not do anything if you are taking the cover off. If you are going to tighten the nuts with the cover in place ensure that you retighten the cylinder ABSOLUTELY SQUARELY. The 9/16 studs are a precision fit in the cover and any excessive uneven tightening WILL break the cylinder.

I am referring to the two adjustment nuts on the underside of the front of the cover. You won't see these until the cover has been raised approx. 2 inches. Move the cover rearwards when the outside ring of retaining bolts are removed.

I did notice the two bolts I think you are describing. They are located near the underside front of plate. Plate will only raise bout a long inch which exposes them. I will remove them, and plate to inspect linkage, valves and o rings. Also I did not/will not loosen any of the bolt studs in the square which would damage cylinder. I am itching to continue, won't be able til first part of wk tho. Anything else let me know. Thank's all for valuable input.

Thanks so much for the advice, I did NOT and will not bother with those pre set bolt studs.
I will begin again early part of wk to inspect linkage, valves and o rings. Hopefully will be able to undo two bolts on front underside plate which will allow removal of plate. Let me know anything else..Thanks for valuable input.
