Hello,
Got her running today. after making a rotor shim, filing and adjusting points, new plugs and wires. fully recharged battery, hit the starter today it it took right off. Was only running on 5 cylinders. Took a compression test and had about 95-100 psi on all except for No.6
found valve had been sticking. lucily i could see the valve through the plug hole. sprayed down a little WD40 around the valve, reached a long punch in the plug hole and gave it 3 light taps and i popped down. Tried it again and it seems to be running great.
Filled the rad up with water for the first time after i had it running and found the rad has a mouse nest inside and its full of canola seed.
Why do we mess with these things!!
one problem solved and found another
we must be nuts...
anyhow. Thanks to everyone on here who helped me get this poor old massey running again.
a rad flush, a few other minor things and a new set of tires and ill be off to the tractor pulls.
