Hi
I am replacing the first of the 2 filters on my 65 diesel that carries the old type cartridge with a copy CAV filter that has a built in drain plug in the glass bottom where water build up can be tapped off, upon instilation I noticed that the pipe work set up under the lid of the copy filter lets the fuel in as can be seen on the attatched photo, down through the filter cartridge and back up through the middel... instead of down through the middel first into the drain bowl (where water and contaminants remain) and then forced up through the filter cartridge before exiting the filter...
What I can not understand is why the copy filter is not designed to filter as the original CAV filter when it has a built in drain plug in the bottom to let out the water/rubbish build up...
Is this maybe the way the filter system works on the MF 35x or 135 ? that is to say the opposite of the MF65.
Has anybody had experience with this before, or have any bright ideas, I´m all out.
Cheers.
