How do I get the hydraulic filter out to clean. I took the bottom plate off and drained the fluid. I just can not get my hands in there. It has a big cast iron head on bottom of it with a couple of springs attached. HELP I can not figure it out! Thanks, any help will be appreciated! |

| | Hello I have had luck with one person putiing a breaker bar and socket on the bottom and putting and putting as much pressure on the braker bar as you can, and then have someone hit the housing near the top with a big brass drift . Good Luck Lance |

| You might have to remove the entire filter assembly and get it in a good vise, and heat it up some. Our 285's filter was impossible to remove also, and the dealer ended up removing it and changing it out for us. Pretty sure they had to remove the assembly.

| Hate to say it but you can't remove it without splitting the tractor. Have a 1080 and talked to the mechanic while he had it apart said it is not one of Masseys better ideas. Merle |
