Do all MF 175 having locking differential.

I have a 1973 diesel with multipower. There is a splined shaft sticking out where the pedal should be, but obviously there is no pedal. Just wondering if a locking differential was standard on that particular model.

Also, I am getting ready to put a front end loader on it. The front end doesn't seem to "beefy" to me. Any recommendations.

Thanks,
Kyle

I think the locking differential was a popular option. The shaft of my 135 is smooth and that pedal slipping has been a pain at times because its the spring on the pedal that pulls the lock out.

The front axle on my 135 has been welded at least once. It had a 236 loader which was more suited to the 175 than the 135.

Front axles on many a tractor with a loader have been weak points.

Hi Kyle, All 175's should have diff lock. The early malleable axle hsg would diff than the late
cast iron axle. Your's sounds like the cast iron
axle(squared off on part of the hsg.) Sounds like
you are missing the pedal. The 175 of course is
not an industrial model in the front end but should hold up with reas. use. Chuck
