Deisel in Oil

I have deisel fuel getting to my oil. I have had the injector pump rebuilt and a new supply pump put on but did not help. Can some one tell me what is causing this problem?

hi joe it may be one of the injectors leaking or the heater plug is leaking, did they put a new seal in the injector pump drive end?, the diaphram in the supply/lift pump may be faulty and have a cut in it.hope this helps.tom

Thanks casestudy. They put all new seals in the injector pump and this is the second supply pump. I guess the next step is to have the injectors checked.

Hi Joe,
If you can be sure that a/ the lift pump and b/ the seal at the front of the main pump are OK then the next step will be the thermostart. Depending on where you are and whether it is a UK 135 it may not have a thermostart fitted. If you do, it will be in the inlet manifold on the RHS of the engine with a wire and a small pipe attached to it. Remove the pipe, you'll have about an egg-cup of fuel out and remove the cable and thermostart. It should be 'sooty' black and dry/ If it is wet you will also find that the inside of the inlet manifold is wet with fuel. If its faulty, a replacement should be readily available as they are fitted to other engines as well. Its possible for an injector to leak (drip) but this would yake a lot longer to pass any appreciable amount of fuel into the sump. If it was that bad you should notice a drop in engine performance or a lot of white smoke.

Joe, I would be suspect of the new lift pump. That
is usually the culprit and I have seen defective
new ones. Chuck

I have had the injector pump rechaeked and 2 new fuel supply pumps put on. The tractor runs fine with good oil preasure for about 20 or 30 Minutes then the oil preasure starts falling, on the dip stick it is about a quart or two to full.

Try running fuel directly to the IP from an overhead tank. (I like to put a cheapy inline filter in the line too) Then take the LP right off. This might isolate the problem to either the IP and injectors or to the LP.

Just curious, where does the fuel return line from the IP and injectors run on that tractor?

new parts are not always good. you could have gotten a bad lift pump. We just replaced the one on our 1105 and the quality is not good.
