Topic: Ever heard of or seen a copper toy tractor?

Has anyone ever seen a Ford 8N toy tractor made out of solid copper? I just saw one but cannot find any reference to it on the internet (yet - although I am still looking). The one I saw was a limited edition toy (diecast-sized tractor).I didn"t get any other details about it other than the guy said it was an 8N.

| Could it be brass? In the late 80's and early
90's(and maybe before that and beyond)brass toys
were offered. In our literature and order blanks,
they were always fob Dyersville, Ia. so likely
the Ertl Co. They were more expensive, a common
1/16 scale had an approximate dealer price of
$75 or so. Pewter toys were also offered. Chuck

| | I guess it could be brass. The guy said it was copper ... I didn't inspect it that closely as it was in a glass case. He did mention that it was discontinued (for sale by the dealers) because it was too brittle to play with. Customers kept returning them complaining about them. When I heard that I was surprised that he said copper as that is a fairly soft metal. Brass makes a lot more sense ... as far as being potentially too brittle. Thanks for the idea.

| Maybe bronze,could have been a collectible on the order of belt buckles or such,not really meant as a "toy",or even a dealer knick-knack maybe.
