4020 CBC Injection Pump Leak

Hello all. I have a 1970 4020 with a CBC pump. It is leaking badly. The leak seems to be near the top where the throttle lever pivots (see
picture if I can get it to post). Is there a way to fix this without totally tearing into the pump? I have done some looking but can't find
anything that tells me how this thing is put together.

Also, what's the purpose of the wiring?

Thanks

The wire is for sealing purpose only, used on pumps years ago during warranty period, if wire was broken warranty was denied. While replacing the two rack gear O rings MIGHT stop the leak, there's an O ring deeper inside that's leaking. There should be no fuel at the rack gear, that area should have a bit of grease only.

I still have two unopened complete seal kits for those pumps, from John Deere. They were $17 each. If I had known they would become so rare, I would of stocked up on them. I also still have a plastic timing window. Kind of a rare item for a C pump. Chances are a couple of o-rings and you will be fine. If the pinion gear is worn, you might want to flip it over - if not already done by someone else.

So the real action is further into the thing, not at the rack gear. Is this something a reasonably skilled home mechanic can tackle, or should I be seeking out a pump shop?

I believe that changing the top O-rings is very easy. Just remove the allen screw at throttle lever pivot, find 2 matching o rings, and assemble it back in place.
