4020 - Replacement transmission pump screen

Hello,

The original trans. / charge pump suction screen had a small tear so thought I'd replace it with new.

I'm not impressed with the appearance of the new screen(R53169). Looks like close to 50% of the surface area is lost to the reinforcing of the plastic cage.

Thinking I might just mix up some epoxy to cover the 3/4" long tear on my old screen & return this ugly looking thing.

Thoughts?

Yeah that ugly looking thing has only been used successfully forever.
Doesn't collapse/mash like the original.

I prefer the plastic ones...they don't suck shut as easy as the metal ones..

Well I won?t bash on you any more but I liked the
look of the new style screen way better than my old
even not considering the giant split and how it was
mashed half way flat
