Is this a gas or diesel? Serial number? Does it happen to have a cab?

Can you possibly take a photo of the relay?

Is there a large circuit breaker mounted next to the relay?

Came factory with cab but no cab now, serial 250122R, relay
has 2 large post and 2 small post and I don?t know about the
circuit breaker, it has a bunch of fuse type 2 post breakers
infer the left side of dash cowl if that?s what you?re talking
about but no fire to any of them

The relay should have power on both sides only when the key switch or starter button is activated, 0n one side when not.

Wish he'd put up a photo, I'm wondering if it's an add-on starter relay, or if it's the "cab relay", note that he said it originally had a cab.

He says he has no power at the key switch, and has checked the harness connector.

What else would be between the "hot" stud on the main starter solenoid and the key switch, a breaker, and if so, where?

I was thinking about the possibility of it being a cab relay,,was also considering that he was looking at the starter wires too,,yes pictures help...

I think bv is referring to this starting circuit relay which could have been substituted by the later style relay.

Ok this is the relay I was talking about but mine in the newer
version, so I got a new relay from the JD dealer today and put
it on , cleaned all the terminals with sandpaper and a wire
brush then I had power to the ignition switch and my
alternator light came on with the key on , it would turn over but
slow so I charged both batteries, 2 6 volts in series and I
noticed the ground cable that is bolted to the top of the
transmission was a little loose and needed cleaning, after all
of this I couldn?t turn loose of the key quick enough as it
started so I want to thank all you guys for helping me as I
know nothing about electrical on this equipment, my tractor
starts easy and runs great so thanks again

The next thing I need to fix is my lights, didn?t have time to
look at them today so if y?all have any advice where to start
please chime in, I have a factory JD repair manual for this
4020 but the electrical section is missing so I ordered a new
one so maybe that?ll help me having pictures, thanks again to
all you guys for helping me
