Hi,

There is a 4020 with HFWD for sale overhere. Is there a way to find out if the HFWD was build at the factory or added later on?

Thanks

If done correctly I have seen ones that were added later that it was impossible to tell.No records of 3020/4020 P.S. or HFWD which are basically for show purposes. If they were a syngro it much more challenging as certain parts are almost non existent.

I think you mean Deere or aftermarket?
As far as I know there were no aftermarkets.
There was a mechanical aftermarket for those old tractors.

Larry, I found this one a while back. Its a 1972 powershift. The owner would sell it, but i have no good idea on the value. It starts and runs good, front end does leak when engaged. He also has the correct rear wheel centers and rims. He has the components for the Region 2 parking brakes. Any ideas or guess?

Thanks

The glare on the photo is blocking my view but the fenders appear to be incorrect for a tractor built for N.American sales. Plus I guess since you mentioned parking brake you were aware of that fact.

Definately a Europeon.The 72 powershift HFWD makes
it rare plus roll bar and canopy add $1000/1500.The
fenders ,wheels,battery location,and being Europeon
hurt.I would guess $12/15K if no mechanical problems
other than front leaking.Hard to find a nice one for
under $25K.The owner having correct wheels and tires
helps and fenders are available.I have only had one
Europeon and it sold right away.I guess I would try
and get it as it looks straight and if it is
original paint even better.

I knew it was a Region 2 tractor. It has the correct style lights, draft arms, fenders and other features for those machines.

I have no interest in the tractor and would like to see it go to someone who appreciates it. If anyone is interested, please email me and I can get you the guys contact info. He knows it something unusual and has pretty fair value.

Elwwod was name of one after market MFD and Mud hogs were a HFWD worked O.K. on combines but tractors dont have quite enough oil flow like Hydro machines. Both decrease value unless you like them yourself. The factory Deere one adds about $4K just because collecters like them as they arent the best.
