I'll bet pull starting is spinning the engine a lot faster than the starter is. How long since inj pump timing has been checked??

| I even put 24 volt to the starter that should turn it fast enough
. I have not checked the timing what is the best way to do
that?

Remove timing windows on clutch housing & inj pump. Turn engine with a large screwdriver or bar in the direction it runs until timing marks on flywheel appear in slot. 4010's time at 14 degrees BTDC IIRC
