I've got a short block off a 1010 diesel. It was a complete running engine, but i used the head for another tractor.I'll take 500 for the whole thing.

Be careful buying a used one. If they are not taken out properly, the sleeves will crack where they attach to the deck.

Another option (if you ha"nt pulled sleeve plate out yet, or it is"nt cracked) is rebore. I did mine 12 or 15 yr. back, Got 40 or 45 (Can"t remember exact size) oversize aftermarket pistons, went togetter great , still running; really made a engine out of it...

If you needed a block or head or other such things I could help you but I sold the sleeve set years ago out of a 1010 I have here that is just parts. You now know why I always tell people to run do not walk away from the 1010 and 2010 parts are high it you can find them and they are not easy to work on

1010 and 2010"s should all have a "Do not resuscitate" sign hanging on them...

Tim you're correct. JD should have recalled all of them but they didn't. |

Deere should have driven them out of the dubuque plant and right into the river. Would have saved a lot of headaches.

No they should have driven them right the the scrap guy so they could be recycled before they became head aches. At least doing it that way would not have polluted things and maybe they would have made good tractor for the people of China

I check a few years ago at JD and they could still get them but boy oh boy do they want the $$ to get one and it is special order to boot. I think back then it was $500 plus just for the sleeve set
