2510 hydraulics very slow to start (steering, 3 point) when first cranking tractor when temp under 30 or so. Otherwise OK. Is this something with pump or other that I will need to address sooner than later? Thanks. |

| Remember the transmission pump will not turn till the clutch pedal is released, it"s a habit for most to depress the clutch pedal and leave it down as the engine is waking up, this will make the hydraulics wake up slow.. |

| I assume you have already checked/cleaned/replaced suction screen and filter. The original 2510 pump was a four piston. When working correctly it was fine, but it was trouble prone. My father bought the first 2510 in the area in the spring of 1966. It wasn't too many years later JD had an 8 piston replacement pump, just not as big as the 3020/4020 pump. It was installed as the original didn't want to wake up some days! It took noticeably more power. So my cousin, who got my uncles 1967 2510, babied and put up with the original pump for many years. It never gave out! There may be other issues with check valve and/or the rear pump, I have no experience with. But there are several one here who know them inside out. |
