Approxmatley 10 years ago i installed a pertronix ing system on my 4010 LP,it worked great utill 2 months ago and it quit just like you turned the key off,no spark off the coil.ordered another coil and modual recommended by pertronix and installed it.ordered a internal resisted coil reccomended by pertronix and disconected the white ceramic resistor bolted to the side of tractor. This resistor was on the tractor when i bought it 20 years ago and i guess its original to the tractor.Tractor run great for about 10 hours then quit just like you shut the key off. i have no spark off the coil.now i want to go back to the original point system. can i still get a internally resisted coil and does it make any difference what one as long as its 12 volt or do in need to install another external resistor and the original coil? thanks for any help anyone can give me. |
