When you take the trans. out of the park position and shift the lever to the right it wants to start to slightly move forward and when you mover the lever to the left it wants to inch backwards. I have two PS 4020"s, and one is definitely worse than the other, but still OK according to the procedure in the shop manual. There is a specific test procedure in the shop manual to determine if the drag is excessive. If you would like, I can post that information. Will be away "til tomorrow, though. [Reply]  [No Email]

IIRC that is part of the trans design to aid in attaching equipment to the tractor draw bar or 3pt. The so-called inching clutch pedal is very sensitive. It had an aftermarket wide front on it. It was shipped new with a narrow front and that is the way I am going to put it back. It runs and shifts very well. [Reply]  [No Email]
