4020 - addition of piston cooling?

Has anyone ever attempted to add piston cooling to a early non-turbo 404?

I have a M&W turbo kit that is scheduled to go on this winter, along with the M&W oil pan

Is there access to and oil pressure port in the block to build a pipe and nozzle rail to make a "hillbilly piston cooling kit"

Any advice appreciated.

Install a exhaust gas temp probe and gauge. Don't
exceed 1200F.
Keep the fuel delivery modest. It's a 40+ year
old hobby toy, don't beat it to death with heat and
pressure.

There isn't enough oil pump capacity with the original 4020 pump to supply oil for the turbo and for piston cooling jets.

Are you aware that M&W supplied a seven blade fan and special shroud? This will not cool the oil,but keeping the operating temp of the engine closer to normal with more cooling will add life to the engine.

There are a lot of 4020's around here with turbos,no M&W cool kits,no Pyrometer , with 135 or so HP working every day, feeding hay and grinding feed...dealing with it just fine,,they are a tough old work horse...

The ones that survive are worked with occasion 135HP peaks with a stead state of 90-100HP.
continuous 135HP from a 4020 and lugging it is not a good idea.

That is the secret for their longer life...using the extra power as a reserve, and not plowing one gear higher..
