If your Uncle knows of a 4430 gas it would be worth a fair amount of money.

I spoke with a guy years ago that had worked on the field testing for Deere in the early 70's, and he told of a gas turbine powered Deere setting at the test farm that was a cross between a 4430 and a 4320, but it never made the grade,,I would love to look around the "grave Yard' of that test farm,,I have been by it, but you can't just drive in ad look around...Darn it

I rented a farm years ago that the owner had a 4030 gas syncro. His dad bought it new with a 148 loader and in the early 90's it had less than 1000 hours.I think my 3020 diesel would work circles around that gutless thing.I wanted t buy it and put a diesel in it to make a real tractor out of it.I also saw a sharp 4230 gas with a year-round cab sell for $5500 in about the same time period.I was also offered a 4230 diesel low-profile for $6000 and did not buy it either.

The gasser's are worth more to collectors than they are to convert to diesel.
For an odd jobs putting around loader tractor. A gasser is perfectly acceptable.

Apparently there was a 4430 gas also? My uncle in OK swears up and down his father in law had a 4430 gas tractor. I find it hard to believe. I am sure it wasn't turbo'ed like the diesel model, but I am about as sure of a unicorn.

I read somewhere, probably 2 cylinder, that the total was in the high 200s- considerably more than the 32 4230 gassers. The number included syncro and quads.

I was told there were less than 100 syngros in 1973.Dont know how many Quads or if powershift was even an option.Gases just dont seem to have as much appeal unless really low number.

Mine is a quad-range. I am pretty sure Power Shift wasn't available on the 4030....

Fewer than what left the factory. There has been some deep thinkers that swapped the gassers for diesels in the rare 4030 and 4230.
