tomstractorsandtoys1 11-29-2012 18:04:55 64.136.27.164 Report to Moderator	Re: John Deere 4030 gas ? in reply to fairviewfarmer, 11-29-2012 12:46:40   I rented a farm years ago that the owner had a 4030 gas syncro.His dad bought it new with a 148 loader and in the early 90's it had less than 1000 hours.I think my 3020 diesel would work circles around that gutless thing.I wanted t buy it and put a diesel in it to make a real tractor out of it.I also saw a sharp 4230 gas with a year-round cab sell for $5500 in about the same time period.I was also offered a 4230 diesel low-profile for $6000 and did not buy it either. My uncle in OK swears up and down his father in law had a 4430 gas tractor. I find it hard to believe. I am sure it wasn't turbo'ed like the diesel model, but I am about as sure of a unicorn.
