I have a 2030 that smokes very bad blue smoke on a
cold start, once it warms up still smokes but not
near as bad, If you plug in the block heater, it
doesn"t smoke too bad. Two injectors tested as
marginal, two were good, I didn"t replace them yet.
I put valve seals in, didn"t change it. Breather has
quite a bit of blow by. I haven"t used it enough to
know if it uses much oil. Looks as though the pump
has been rebuilt. About 5000 hrs. Is it time for a
overhaul or does anyone have any ideas to try?

Thanks for the replies. I did set pump timing before, but I've got two injectors on the way. I'll install them and check it. Its a standyne pump its not set running, unless there another way to set it.

I agree with both of the previous answers. I replace the 2 faulty injectors and check timing then run to evaluate the oil consumption.

I bought a 2030 that smoked blue smoke all the time. I had a mechanic reset the timing and it straightened right up. The timing advance on mine neded to be set while it was running. Mechanic had a little plastic cover with the marks on it that bolted up to the injector pump(Roosa Master?). When it is below 50 degrees mine still blows out some blue smoke until it warms up.
