There has to be a valve, or they wouldn't be able to charge them. Is there a hex cap on the end opposite the fitting that screws into the valve? If so, unscrew the cap and there should be a shrader valve underneath. I've never heard of accumulators coming pre-charged, but I suppose it's possible. [Reply]  [No Email]

You can go to abilene machine"s website and see for yourself. I think there is a hex plug on one end. I was just afraid to unscrew it because I thought maybe it was holding pressure. I know this accumulator has at least some charge in it, because it works much better than the old one it replaced. Something"s just not working correctly. Would it be the third line that goes tees into the attenuator? I can"t trace it under the cab. I see it on the left hand side, but can"t see where it goes from there. The 4040 cab sits very low on the chassis unlike the larger 40 series. [Reply]  [No Email]
