I have new pts, condenser, plugs, rotor, cap,& plug wires. The 50 is only firing on the rt cylinder. it idles on the one cylinder. Starts right up,but when I take off the plug wire at the distrib for the left side nothing changes, when I unplug the right plug at the distrib she dies. What am I missing? Any help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks |

| My money is on the carb. You have a dual throat carb, one for each cylinder. I've experienced something similar..carb needed cleaning/rebuilding. |

| | Had a similar problem with "Rusty" one of our 51 MTs. All new electrics, but only running on one cylinder. Checked the mechanical and found a spring was broken on the intake valve. |

| | I'd do a compression test to see where your at. Valve adjustment couldn't hurt either. Can you get any change by adjusting the carb. idle needles ? |

| Someone brought an A to me that had that problem. After much head scratching I found the valve lash backed away on a valve. Probably isn't the problem in your case but it's a possibility. Jim |

| It was doing the same thing even before I put in all the new parts? Is the problem possibly with the distrb needing to be re-built? |

| Switch the plugs and see if the problem moves to the other side. If it doesn't, I'd suspect a bad coil. |
