my 1980"s jd 400 industrial backhoe stops running when i turn on the lights i replaced all wireing for lights runs great other wise its 4 cylinder gas.

I guess you overlooked reading that he stated it was gasoline. But you're probably still correct as something is lowering the voltage to the distributor.

| If it has circuit breakers in the system check for a weak breaker or a rusty connection under the nuts that hold the wires to the breaker. Some thinking is not letting enough power get to the injection pump when you turn the lights on.
