| The model 412 was the 2 bottom plow for the 40 tractor. The one bottom version is a 411. |

| My JD 40 (tricycle) came with 2 disc breakers. They probably cut about 10 to 12 inches each. I suspect the 40 would be happy with 2 12 inch breakers. I still have the disc breakers that came with ours. |

| Judd, It was the model 411 which had fixed standards. I not shure when the model 412 came out it had trip standards. Rich |

| 412 did not trip. 411 was 1 bottom and 412 was 2 bottom. 415 and 415A were the later trip plows, coming out with the 420, 430, and 1010. |

| In the book by David Wolfe No 411 one bottom built 1952-64. No 412 two bottom built 1952-56. Both with truss frame not trip. |
