Well, I posted several days ago about the ease with which I installed my new Saginaw hitch on my 70, but couldn't report on its function as it was rainy and wet. Dry weather has come and I've put my 6' Bushhog on the 70 and cut about 5 acres of fescue/weeds. I learned the following things about it, which weren't "problems", just something I needed to know.1. The vertical screw adjustments on the arms need to be tightened with a wrench just a tad after adjustment. I snugged both the upper and lower nut tight by hand, but that was inadequate and after a short while of running, it was apparent they were unscrewing. (Yes, in hindsight this seems obvious, but I didn't have a wrench handy when I hooked it up to the mower and adjusted it.) 2. You have to be pretty much "dead on" to hook up the arms as there is no provision for lengthening the arms when hooking up. Not a real big deal, but it would be a nice convenience to have.) 3. Make sure the set screws on the sway bars are TIGHT. They are designed to be hand tightened, having a welded handle on the set bolts, but I didn't get the left one tight enough. It slid a bit, causing a gall on the sliding rod. This gall made it impossible to pull the sway bar out to adjust it. I had to take it off the tractor, hook it up onto my cherry picker and pull it apart. I then had to grind off the gall, after which it worked fine again. Over all I'm impressed with the sturdiness of the hitch and its simplicity to install. Its not detracting from the look of the tractor and as I had said before the only aspect of that I didn't care for was that I couldn't use my original PTO shield. I wouldn't hesistate to buy another one. |

| SgtBull, Thanks for the update. Shortly after you posted on here I saw one of their hitches on ebay. Looked like a good piece. I am contemplating one also to get more use out of my tractor. keep the review comments coming...Kris A NC |
