Hey Guys,The post below on the 730 transmission got me thinking. My new-to-me 630 run and drives great. However, if I shift into 2nd, sometimes it won't move. Shifting into reverse then back into second clears the problem. From looking at the archives, its a common problem. I'd like to open the cover up and look for wear. I know the transmission was gone through by the previous owner (he had a mechanic look at bearing and gears) and any worn bearings were replaced. Gears were good. So, I'd like to know if someone could provide me with how to fix/adjust shift linkage, etc. Im planning on digging into this after work this coming week. Thanks in advance. Nate |

| | Hey Ron, Thanks for the help. I've been reading up on it based on previous posts. And I've been studying up on the parts diagrams. I'd like to find some repair manual instructions on the tractor if they exist...I'll post what I find when I tear into it. Thanks Nate |

| It could be anything from a Broken Detent spring, to worn shift forks and shifter... Maybe the shifter is loose..check to be sure those bolts are Tight before you put the Shift Quadrant back in place.. Get all the info you can find before you open it up.. You will need to know what you are looking for, if you are going to diagnose it.. Ron.. |
