1971 with syncro trans, 3pt goes down after shutdown, takes a few hours for it to go all the way down. Upon start it goes up by it self shattering the whole way, very annoying. What is involved in fixing it. Thankyou |

| I have 10 new generation tractors and they all leak down.Your going to spend money and probaly not fix the problem. When you shut off your tractor at the end of the day let the hitch down and after starting in the morning raise it.We bought and sold tractors for years and it is rare to find one that the hitch stays up overnite on. |

| To each his own (being annoyed); not sure how many new generation Deeres we've owned, starting with a 3010D in 1963......probably a couple dozen or more; have never owned a SINGLE one that the arms wouldn't leak down on after they had some hours on 'em. As long as they came up and stayed up.......when the tractor was running, it wasn't an issue..........to us. |

| You are right on, JOHN DEERE never designed them to hold up after shut down. The problem was when a customer bought a new 4020 and it settled and the old 4010 would hold a plow up all winter. It is perfectly normal but you can spend the money and still have a leaker . |

| 3 possibilities that I can think of are leaking RS piston seal, leaking control vales or leaking thermal relief valve.
These are for renewing the parts for the RS piston seal
R26754 RING,BACK-UP ADD 8.94 USD
F2741R PACKING ADD 2.90 USD
R34154 PACKING ADD 3.62 USD
R26543 PACKING O RING ADD 6.16 USD
Also it may be as simple as the control valves set too tight which they can be adjusted from the outside on RH side of control valve housing. |
