This tractor belongs to my dad and although I grew up using it on the farm, I do not know much about solving its problems. Dad said after running the bush hog he wanted to raise the bucket before putting the tractor away in the barn. He could not raise the bucket. He said it had been working good. This tractor had a new hydraulic pump installed by John Deere techs a year or so ago. Dad is 84 years old and hopefully he just over looked something like a disconnected hydraulic hose. What should I look for? |

I agree with b&d that if the 3020 were my tractor I'd supply oil to loader control valve from a tee in hyd pressure line BUT I wouldn't spend the money($$$$) on a ported filter cover as I'd tee into the rockshaft oil return line instead. |

| What type valve controls the loader SCV or ind?? Does power steering & 3pt operate correctly? Possible frt hyd pump coupling failure. |

| Make sure the couplers are plugged in the whole way and correctly and the flow cutoffs are open. |

| | Thanks for your replies donjr and Tx Jim. This tractor has a Dunham loader that has an independent control valve. We always kept the lever next to the 3pt control lever tied in the up position when using this loader. Inadvertently Dad had bumped this lever when getting on or off the tractor. Once he put it back as it had been the loader worked fine. Before we went to the barn I asked if the PS and 3pt were working, he said they were fine. I breathed a sigh of relief as he started the tractor and checked the loader function. I could tell he did too. Thanks again. |

| Thanks for the good news. Another reason to supply a loader from a dedicated "T" and ported filter return. Instead of tying the scv's from any other use. |
