I recently acquired an M30 loader for my early "47 JD M (one of the first 600 produced). I found a larger 3 section hydraulic pump but the bolt pattern does not line up with my early 2 section mounting holes. Where there more than one upgraded pump produced or will it not work on my early production model?

yes the newer pumps on Ms will not interchange with the older pumps. they are different bolt patterns. the only way to upgrade to a newer pump is to change the front engine plate to a newer one. this is ALOT of work involving the complete removal of rad, front axle casting , front crank pulley ,governor and pump. then when you get that all done you will find that the oil lines will not match up. IT IS NOT worth the work.. I just went through this delema with a friend and we decided to put the loader on and see if the little pump has the capacity/strength. It did, for all you are going to use it I would suggest you do the same. good luck and have fun.
