My 1947 H is poppong back at me when I run her. She starts right up but after a while she will blow the rain cap off of the muffler. Before I do any thing does anyone have an ideas as to what is happing and what I should do. Was going to drain all the gas and then run a gallon on fresh gas with sea foam through her to see if it would help. Anyy ideas thanks frank |

| do you mean backfiring from the muffler? if so.the throttle shaft packing was worn out on an H that I bought and every once and a while it would backfire louder than a shotgun going off. Bill |

| Yep a big loud bang and the rain cap is shot into the air about 5 to 6 feet. What is the throttle shaft packing and how do I change it? is this the throttle shaft on the carb? Thanks for the help. Frank |

| I NEVER run rain caps on 2 cylinders !!!! They drive me crazy popping and banging around. So yours could just be "normal" without hearing it in person. |
