johndeere720diesel 09-09-2012 06:18:33 66.87.92.23 Report to Moderator	Re: Taperlock fltwheel in reply to wijim, 09-08-2012 20:40:33   To get the collar off you need a puller and thread the nut back on then the jaws of the puller on the edges of the nut and the forcing screw on the crank To reinstall follow the service manual to set end play using the collar instead of the flywheel because i believe 70 and early 720s use shims you need to hold the crank all the way to the flywheel side to properly set endplay and once endplay is set you'll need to set the flywheel on then tighten the nut as tight as you can the hit the flywheel with a sledge hammer and then tighten nut more and continue like that until the nut doesn't move anymore. Then run tractor for a couple hours check endplay again then try to tighten nut some more following same method as before [Reply]  [No Email]
