I have a '53 420w and I'm having problems with the PTO jumping out of gear. It only does it when its under a load. I have a mechanic looking at it and he says I need a new fork and gear that they are worn. So does anybody know where I might find these parts. Thanks for your time. |

| | It is hard to keep up with all of the models and years due to so many changes. 1956 (Phase 1) 80001 94818 1957 (Phase 2) 100001 119764 1958 (Phase 3) 125001 136868 Phase 1(1956)--All green tractors-vertical steering wheel. Instead of medallion, has "JOHN DEERE" in chrome, on grill. Phase 2(1957)--Yellow paint on hood, medallion on grill. Phase 3(1958)--Slant steering wheel, except High Crop and LP fueled tractors.

| Is there anything stopping the pro lever making full travel? I had to grind a little off the lever on my tractor to allow the forks to make full travel. |

| | Dave Cook in WI may have a serviceable one, think it is caled a coupler. There is also a detent ball and spring on the side of the trans, but I am sure your mechanic has checked it. I would make sure of the year and model also. probably you just did a typo on the year for the 420. |
