MY JD 2020 steers more to the left than right. It pegs out the steering arm when turning to the right. The left seems to turn to sharp. The steering arms off the bell crank are the same length on both sies. I am assuming this is correct, or is one side supposed to be shorter. I was assuming the bell crank was centered and with both side steering arms the same length and the toe in correct, the steering would be correct. Looks like it has be oversteering to the left for a while, as one arm was slightly bent. The books just says "adjust and toe in 1/4 to 1/2 inch.

I can't answer that question as I've been away from a JD dealer toooo long. Maybe someone else can answer. Do yo have any neighbors with a JD utility tractor that you could compare arm location(travel) of their tractor to yours??

Are you referring to parts key #9(previous photo) when you state "arm"??? If so did you check alignment of parts key #9 on parts key #7????????

Are parts keys #2 in this photo the same distance from each corresponding frt tire???????????

According to JDparts.com the tie rods & tubes should be the same length on each side. It's possible steering arm(parts key #9) is installed 90% off. It's also possible someone hit a hole with a frt wheel and twisted a steering spindle and then adjusted tie rods to compensate for the twist.

What is the secret to removing and reinstalling this arm.
Space seems to be a big issue.

Thanks,
Todd

Seems the arm will hit the tractor frame and stop it when
steering to the right at about the correct place, but when
steering to the left it goes a bit further before stopping. I
don't see how it could be 90' off. Is there a way to adjust the
travel in the steering. I don't see any problems with the front
tie rods, they are equal with correct toe-in. This problem
looks to have been with this tractor for a while. It had one
bent tie rod that I replaced, and the stop on the right side
knee has been welded. Is there any travel adjustment in the
steering column, thanks -todd
