Hi Group, We are trying to locate a part number for a moldboard on this JD Plow. Looks like it may have been put on back in yellow paint ?
Any advice ? Thanks

Those are high speed bottoms. Measure the plow frame to find out if they are 14" or 16". Look at the points and see if they are 3 bolt or 4 bolt. Any 3 bolt HS share will work for it's bottom size (14"or 16") and any 4 bolt HS share will work for it's bottom size.

The moldboards are the same for the 3 or 4 bolt bottoms. Just a 14" or 16" HS moldboard.

That is, indeed, a 555 plow but you will not find bottom parts in the parts book for that plow. You will find them in either the No. 158 Plow Bottoms book or the 1308 Plow Bottoms book (which I think has the HS bottoms in it). The bottoms look like they were originally black on the back so odds are they are a 4-bolt share bottom which would make them an "HS4xx" series bottom. The 3-bolt bottoms were originally green on the back and obviously had a 3-bolt share. The 4-bolts were considered heavier duty. So if you look up High Speed bottoms and the 400 series you should find what you are looking for. Those bottoms look very much to me like a common HS434 if 14" or HS436 if 16". That should get you close. Mike

Thanks Mike
RE:Check in: 158 Plow Bottoms book or the 1308 Plow Bottoms book.

I looked at 158, however I did not find m-boards in a 1308...
How does one fond catalog numbers.

A20700 is a high speed 14' moldboard and A20702 is a high speed 16" moaldboard.

It appears you have a 555H 4 bottom. it's a bit odd with the rear steel wheel, but it's possible that it's been replaced with the steel wheel from the original rubber tire.
You might find a number on the back side of the moldboard, but it's likely going to be rather difficult to locate. The moldboards were usually stenciled on the back sides such as HS324NC or simlilar.
Once you find the bottom size it's really only two choices, one replacement for the 14" and one for the 16". They're available from Deere and other sources. If you're in need of some parts I specialize in moldboard plow parts for JD.

What part are you looking for in particular? Those are HS bottoms. Just measure the distance between the beams of the plow to get your bottom size. All HS bottoms use the same moldboard relative to their size (14 or 16 inch).

Find the model number of the plow, then go to the JD parts website.

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to see

It might not be as easy as all that. The plow books were one thing, but there is a separate book for moldboards... try PC 0158, Plow Bottoms.

Are the plow model numbers located in a consistent location, on the plow ?

The plow model number wont really help you with identifying the bottoms. There were various types of bottoms offered for a single plow frame. The bottoms are found in a catalog all of their own as FIT instructed, separate and apart from the plow frame.

I cant tell from the photo given without digging in the parts catalog but it appears that it might be a 55 with an added bottom or perhaps a 555. I first thought maybe a 66 but it appears that you dont have the 18" land wheel.

You do most certianly have HS bottoms with some retro-fit/aftermarket trashboards.
