Just picked up a 2640 Deere, got it home and hooked it up to my rotary mower and the 3 pt worked fine, then went to the field, which was a half mile down the road and the 3pt wouldnt lower. Now it will not lower at all. I have good hydraulic pressure, any tips on where to start? Thanks in advance!

Quoting Removed, click Modern View to see

Check to see if parts key #6 is snug on parts key #4?? It's also possible parts key #1 broke in 2nd photo. I've also seen parts key #6(3rd photo) break on one occasion.

We tried the rate of drop screw and to no avail, adjusted it every which way and it wont lower yet.

Lift the rockshaft up off and look it over, there may be a linkage bent...

Craig is correct on rate of drop screw except the 2640 has a green piece of metal(parts key # eight) on the bolt(no black knob).

I have limited knowledge on the utility tractors of that era. Look under and forward of the seat, and see it there is a black knob. If that knob is tightened down, it won't lower at all. If it has that knob, that's a good possibility of why it won't drop.
