I bought a John Deere A Last night for my Wife.
Needless to say she's not all impressed... Since
she doesn't want it, I guess I'll Claim it..

This tractor went through the Tornado's we had
in NW Pa. in 1985.. So it's hasn't turned over
since then. Picked up & Upset & I didn't want to
see it get crushed.. NO TAG...Styled, 6 speed
hand crank. All Fuel, Normal PTO, Cast steel
frt Frame, Not the Heavey angle Iron type
Roller Drawbar & Small Radiator cap ... I am
thinking 1943 Maybe?? I've got to haul it home
yet.

sounds like you best get some flowers and a nice dinner planned for her...first rule of tractor collecting never buy a junker and tell your wife it's for her.

An old guy once told me if u keep buying them and have a bunch she will never know the difference of what u are hauling in and out.. He also told me never line them all up in the yard that's when she will catch on. Lucky for me mine likes the old two cylinders..

a number of years ago I got my wife a gift for christmas, her birthday is right before christmas so I gave her the gift early, for christmas I only could find a harbor freight $1.00 battery tester for her to open, the original gift is long gone, she still uses the battery tester weekly and it has a special spot in the kitchen to keep it.... I need to shop more often at harbor freight for gifts...

I once bought my wife a pair of red handle loppers that extended for valentines day. She actually like them! I have tried the tractor route but keep getting shot down. Same goes for a bulldozer. Darn!

Fred you just need to find her say a JD-L or LA that is painted pink and has all the extra like an umbrella etc and she might just like it. My wife keeps asking me when I am going to find her a tractor she fits on. Problem is there she want one that is easy to get on and get off and is small enough for her to drive but big enough so she can rake hay with it and so far I have not found one like that in my price range. I would love to find say an AC G or an Oliver Super 44 but both are way out of my ball park unless you start buying a lot more 60 parts LOL

Last December I helped Nancy build a run-in shed for her horses.

Imagine my surprise when she moved them back to Dallas.

Our 40 year marriage hasn't been quite the same since I bought her a really NICE log chain about ten years ago, and told her it was for her birthday...I DID buy her a new Gator on Monday. Maybe that will do the trick.

You just have to keep buying tractors until you find one she likes.

She has never really said NO MORE TRACTORS!

So I have a scape goat.. I really doudt if this
thing will ever run, but then again If I find a
donor machine maybe... The only reason I went
to look at it was the owner told me it was a
cyclone model he thought?? Well it wasn"t...
Then I couldn"t pass up on the Price...
