Well, I thought I had my tank clean out good but after putting it on my tractor the fuel shutoff gets plugged with junk and its not the big chunks either. I bought the shutoff at tractor supply and I"m not impressed with the flow. I need to get the tank absolutely spotless or this shutoff plugs up and part of the problem is the fuel doesn"t flow straight down thru like the old ones. It"s design is a right angle bend inside the casting and why would anyone do that? This is where the fine stuff gets trapped. Do I find a different shutoff....and where? Any suggestions on this are certainly appreciated. |

| | ABG I get it in the paint and prep section of Home Depot. Only place I havce found it in gallons. Other Home places have it in quarts. Cost is not a factor when prepping metal and it is economical at the places like HD, Lowes, Menards, etc. |

| | I use a pressure washer, then hot water and dawn dish soap to clean tank out then flush with clean water till it's clear. Obviously you need to let it sit till all water evaporates. I then install a 3/8" ball valve with a drip leg. 3/8"close nipple in the tank, then T, then a 3" nipple and cap. All these parts are on a vertical plane. Out the side of the T another close nipple, 3/8" ball valve them 3/8"mip X insert male adapter the size of the rubber fuel line then inline gravity type fuel filter. These parts are on a horizontal plane. I occasionally remove the cap and clear debris. Works perfect and no restrictions. Eventually, depending on how much you use the tractor, all the junk will work it's way out. |
