4020 Gas slow starting after sitting for a few days

Have a 4020 that has to crank for maybe 20-30 seconds before starting. I checked the fuel strainer on the carb and it appears to have gas. I thought perhaps the gas was flowing back or leaking but am not sure. It will start right up hours later or the very next day. It runs well ater starting. Any Ideas as to what the problem would be? Thank you.

My 67 4020 gas tractor had a seepage through the wall between the float chamber the next chamber which allowed it to flood. Gas would run out around the choke shaft if it set long enough. Had pretty much the same symptoms you describe. I have the Zenith carb. There was enough seepage that I had to set the idling up after it was repaired.
