Can you have a B generator bumped up to charge a 12 volt battery? That seems like it would be cheaper then finding a good A gen. If it works. Thanks for your thoughts. |

| | I have used 6 volt gennys and made them charge a 12 volt battery simply by using a 12 volt VR but before anyone has a calf Im NOT saying thats engineering correct or it will charge at any super high rate, Im ONLY saying it worked.....A gennys output increases if it turns faster and/or you pump more current through its field coils....... An old fashion genny shop can convert them to 12 volts, they usually change out the field coils. Or else get a 12 volt genny n VR (new or used) Or else use an alternator... John T |

| Thanks JohnT I have a 12volt reg. I can try. If it works cool.If not I will take it to the Gen. shop. I like keeping it looking correct. |

| Check with your local 'guy' - maybe expensive to convert fron 6v-12v (maybe not). Any 12v gen. from the automotive world will work if you have the matching regulator and can make it fit. Where do you think the original sources are? Delco Remy. |
