4020 FWA with cab, battery box question

I have a "71 4020 FWA with a Hinson cab, the battery boxes
were all but missing and the previous owner had purchased
new boxes that came with the tractor. I am wondering how to
go about cutting the new open station boxes up to fit and how
they are held closed on cab tractors.

Also does anyone have advise on how to install heater hoses
inside the pillers of the cab

Tommy

In the JD parts catalog # 1116 - 4000 and 4020 (s.n. 201,000- ) Tractors - 20May11 the battery boxes aren't boxes but frames similar to the 4000 models and are held in place with a top strap and R45896 WING SCREW
(4000 SERIES)

Jim is right. I have a "71 4020 with a factory
Hinson cab and the hardware he mentions is exactly
what is used. That was a pretty bad place to place
a battery on a cab tractor, actually. Mike
