4020 Front Drawbar Support

I need to get the front drawbar support off of my early 4020. The holes are wallowed out pretty bad on the ears where the draft links mount. Do I have to pull the loadshaft all the way out to get the drawbar support off? Is it possible to drill out the holes where the draft links mount and put bushings to tighten it up?

Yes you need to pull the shaft. There are bushings in the yoke, hopefully you havent went to far and wore the holes. A machine shop might make bushings for it.

I have mine at a machine shop as I am writing this. I am having them put the drawbar hole bushings in and 1.16 bushings in the outer holes for the 3pt arms. I'll post back later and tell you how it turned out. You'll have to drive out the pin in the front also to get the support off. Just look first to see which side of the pin is mushroomed and drive from the other side.

So are you saying that Deere has bushings for this? Did it have bushings in it from the factory? I don't see them, but it's hard to tell with it on the tractor.

Are you positive there are bushings in the holes where 3pt arms attach? I could find any on JD's website. I found bushings for frt pin, drawbar & load control shaft but not 3pt.

(quoted from post at 07:17:22 03/27/10) Only the later ones after 259,0?? ser.no had the bushings.

May I ask what the part #s are for the bushings for holes that 3pt draft arms attach? I can't find a part # on JDparts.com for such a bushing for this application. Granted 4020's had a part # break @ SN 259740 & up for a different front drawbar support. Thanks
