The 4020 will pick up a 5x6 roll of hay but not all of the way. When there is not a load on it the rockshaft arm raise to near verticle, with a load they only make it up to some where a little above 45 degrees, gets the 5x6 roll off of the ground but not very high. It is a console 4020 with s/n >201K.
From a previous post on this issue, I learned from the yt community about the l,d, l&d lever. The tractor does the same thing regardless of the position of that lever. I was told I needed to do and adujustment to correct this. After consulting the service manual I started the adjustment procedure and here is what I discovered:
The linkage between the lever handle and the actuator arm on the hydraulic component of the tractor is broken and the actuator on the hydraulic component of the tractor is nearly frozen, it will move if tapped on by a hammer but that is about the only way it will move. The linkage looks to be not that hard to replace but what about nearly frozen actuator arm?
I realize this is a long post and any comments will be greatly appreciated.
