I'm working on replacing inner and outer axle bearings on my unstyle JD B. Before I start on this, does anyone have any good advice for pulling the races out of the axle housing? |

| Now that I have the old ones out, anybody have a good idea for pressing the new races in? My plan was to get them cold in the freezer, then either drive them in with the "hammer and socket" approach, or rig up a way to pull them in using a long threaded rod. Any suggestions appreciated! |

I have removed the races on A's and B's using this method. I have never had a problem. |

| | the welder is the way to go. Take the work and consternation out of it. I hav't done many races that way and none on a B but the ones that had the bead welded on them did not need pullig to remove. |

| I applied the wirefeed welder as several of you instructed and it worked very well! The races are all now lying on the shop floor. Thanks for the help - I never would have dreamt up that solution! |

| OTC made a puller to pull races. There a notches in the case to get one in behind. This puller works really good in a slide hammer. You might be able to rent one. Welding on the face of them shrinks them and they fall out. But this is only good if you are not going to reuse them. |

| I replaced all the bearings in my G's rearend. I took a welder and welded beads around the inner race and then welded a bar across to drive out against. worked great. tried a lot of other ways, none worked. |
