Oil pressure light came on. Oil level was fine but I changed the oil and filter just because it was time. I followed the wire from the sending unit and made sure there was no cracks or shorts in the wire. removed the sending unit and started the tractor and no oil pumping out. Removed the new filter and no oil in the filter. Is this model known for oil pump failures, have about 1200 hrs on this unit and has always had regular oil changes. |

| Found the problem. I tore down the front to inspect the oil pump after I checked the pick up screen and found the oil pump has a crack almost half way around. Sure got lucky back together and running better than ever. My local John Deere dealer told me when I ordered parts that he has had at least five of these this year same thing cracked oil pump. New replacement pump is all cast iron old was aluminum and cast. |

| I don't think it's "known" for that issue. I have had two of them in the past and have a friend that has one. I never had any issues and one had about 1500 hours. |
