What secrets can someone share with me about getting the wedge loose so I can move wheel on the axle. I have moved many JD wheels in the past but never have I had one as stupid as this one. I loosened the three bolts and screwed in the jack screws tight than tight, I smacked the three bolts on the head with a sledge as hard as I dare and all to no avail. Can I apply heat safely in some manner to help? I would like any help. Thanks Jerry |

| | This might sound funny but it worked twice for me. Once on a 4020 and the other on a 730. And it was showed to me by the orginal owner of the 730. He took a "soft" sledg hammer. I think it had a lead hammer head and he tapped the other side's axel and the wedge popped lose. He said the you don't have to hit it that hard but just tap it and it will come lose. He was in his mid 60's when he showed it to me. Ray |

| | You DO realize that if you put too much torque on the jack screws, you can break the lip off of the wedge that you are trying to move. Leave the pressure that you have on, and find a heavy pipe that will just fit over the axle. Cut 1/2 of the end away, so you can put pressure on just the wedge that you are trying to loosen. Hit the Pipe with the heaviest sledge that you have. Retorque the jack screws and hit the pipe again. Continue until loose. Good Luck!!!!! Lon |

| Have you soaked the hub with plenty penetrant..? Have you slid the 6 Foot Long pipe over the breaker-bar handle yet..? About 150-200 lbs on the end , plus some heat AND a few good Belts with that sledge should get it loose.. Ron.. |
