I have a John Deere #44 Plow. I am looking for info on how to set it up and adjust it to work properly. This plow was purchased new and used on our farm since before I can remember. After all these years it may or may not be as it should be. Is there a place online to download this info, if not is it possible to still get an operators manual. I haven't been able to find one. I can find parts manuals but no operaters manual.
Thanks for any help.

I have a operators manual original om=A1-352 for No. 44, 44A.44H, and 44AH. 35 pages in excellent shape. You can have it for $20.00 and I'll pay the shipping. I bought it for reference and don.t need it anymore.Pat

I would watch e-bay. I believe the one that just sold went for less than $20. I got mine on there last yr for $24. It is perfect original dated 1/50 and is A/B/H. There are a whole new batch of "original" manuals starting to show back up on e-bay now that the auction chasers are slowing down for the winter and selling their summer finds. Might as well get an original , the plow is.

I don't know of a place online where you can get the operator's manual for free, as Deere still sells them. The OMA1352 operator's manual for the #44 plow costs $30, so you can use that reprint price from Deere to compare to any used books you come across.

If you want to purchase one from Deere, you can visit their "bookstore" at:

http://techpubs.deere.com/deere/default.aspx

Click on the "Technical/Service Publications" on the left.

If you purchase an early manual it will likley only cover one type. In Example the manual may be specific to a 44 or a 44H or a 44A or 44AH. If you get the later manual it will cover all types and be several more pages.

It may be benificial to decide what type you have now so you can be looking for the correct manual now.

There is a manual on ebay now for a plain #44 with no A or H designation.

Designations:

A=plow rides on three wheels even when out of the ground.
H=Hydraulic lift.

There were some different styles of hitches offered on the later 44's as well that were not offered on the earlier style.
