4020 Fuel pump leaking

I have a 66 4020 diesel with the glass bowl type fuel pump. It is leaking both around the gasket that holds the 2 halves of the pump together and also around the primer lever. When I checked a year or so ago, Deere only sold the newer type without the glass bowl as a replacement. I would like to keep mine original. Does anyone make original style pumps still or make rebuild kits for the originals? I may also be interested in a NOS pump if anyone has one. Thanks Jeff

Have you checked with your DEERE dealer?

jdparts.com shows 2 different KITS, RE524125 and RE527115. It LOOKS like the the RE527115 would be the more likely choice for diesel apps.

I can't verify FOR SURE that they are kits and don't sub to a complete pump. You might want to check it out.

I don't think the kits have been available for a decade. I don't like the new pump either. So on my gas 4020, I went to an electric pump.

You might be able to slow the leaks by tightening the screws, but if the diaphragm is broken, its pumping fuel into the crankcase.
