I have a 3020 and need to tow it. Is the tow range in the neutral position on the decal or 8th gear. I know I used to pull start it in 8th gear. I need to pull it out of the barn and it will be backing out so do I put it in tow range to back it out also. Thanks!

The "TOW" position is marked on the decal. It is a position where the shift collars on the lower shaft are BOTH disengaged, so the gears on the upper shaft are NOT driven by the lower (pinion) shaft.

It is the upper shaft/gears that get "killed" during towing, as they are not being lubed without the engine and tranny topshaft turning.

Be SURE you know what you are doing and have correctly located the "TOW" position BEFORE attempting to tow it!

It is a "neutral" position. As I said, the lower shaft collars are disengaged, so you certainly wouldn't be going anywhere "under power", which would make it a "neutral", I'd think!

Keep the lever on the left side of the quadrant, in between where you would have to be to get it in 6/8 and 4/7. You should be able to feel it.
