Which brands of combines used Chrysler industrial engines for power (225, 318, 360, etc)? Just a curiosity question. Also did any gleaners use these motors?

Why, you looking for an engine or combine?
Know where there is a Minneapolis Moline 4296? with a Chrysler 318 ind and an oliver combine with a 225 slant six. Owner would make you a deal just be rid of them. (I am not the owner)

The 1060,1160,1665 case combines used a 318 chrysler engine, the 960 used a 6cyl(225 I think)engine. Case offered case engines for these machines too but chrysler were more common.

The Gleaners that didn't have Allis gas motors in them had Chevrolets. I think the K had a four or six cylinder Chevy, while the early M's could be ordered with a 350.

If you include swathers, the Deere 800 used the classic Chrysler Slant Six 225. Complete with the unique gear reduction starter whrrr sound.

Adam, all the engines you mentioned are overhead valve engines, the 225 being introduced in 1960. Earlier, flathead 6 cylinder engines of 217 and 230 cubic inch displacement were used by Massey in combines. Most of the parts would interchange with Dodge and Plymouth engines.

Were the Engines American or made in Canada? The ones made across the road were made in Canad except for the last year.

Combines built in Branfort Ont used the Chrysler engines. That would be older Massy, Cockshutt, Oliver, White & Moline. The 555 Cockshutt and the equal model Moline & Oliver used 383 and 400 engines.
